Abstract

Optimalization in coal mining needs to consider geotechnical aspect, especially of slope stability analysis, for maximize the result and preventing the slope from landslide due to the activities. This research were done by collecting lithological samples at Pit X’s Sidewall surrounding area, thus conduct geotechnical test to collect physical and mechanical properties data of the Sidewall Samples, then slope stability analysis with limit equilibrium method simulation in 4 assumptions: initial condition, design-based-cut condition, cut of slpe with slope angle 700 condition, and single slope 20 m height condition. Based on the analysis, the factor of safety that occurs shows the design-based-cut condition area the most safety (FoS = 1,111) with mineable coal about 9427 MT (Metric Tonnes). Then the simulation has been held for the optimalization activity which separate into 2 phase. First phase are overburden removal about 10.475 BCM (Bank Cubic Meter) and 9.427 MT coal getting while observe deformation of the slope using monitoring prism. The second phase held by dispose overburden from another front about 10.475 BCM to strenghten the sidewall against landslide potential.
