INOVASI MATERIAL BERKELANJUTAN: PENGARUH SUBSTITUSI ABU SEKAM PADI SEBAGAI FILLER TERHADAP VARIASI KADAR ASPAL PADA CAMPURAN ASPAL BETON LAPIS AUS (AC-WC)
Abstract
As traffic volume increases, the quality of road infrastructure must be improved through innovations in filler materials within asphalt mixtures to achieve better performance and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the influence of rice husk ash (RHA) as a substitute for conventional filler on Marshall parameters in asphalt concrete wearing course (AC-WC) mixtures. Activated RHA, produced through high-temperature combustion, was used as filler at proportions of 50%, 75%, and 100% as a replacement for traditional filler. Aggregate characteristic tests, physical properties of the filler, and Marshall parameters all indicate that the materials meet applicable standards. The analysis results show that increasing the proportion of RHA affects Marshall parameter values, including a decrease in VIM and an increase in asphalt content, which causes a shift in the range of the Optimum Asphalt Content (OAC). Overall, the use of RHA extends the OAC range and can improve mixture flexibility, although adjustments to asphalt content are necessary to meet stability and strength requirements.
