Abstract

This study aims to design the technical layout of the pit and to plan the requirements for excavation and hauling equipment to achieve the production target for the Q2 2025 period in Pit 7 of PT Victor Dua Tiga Mega, Barito Utara, Central Kalimantan. The main issue encountered is the failure to meet production targets in previous months due to inadequate technical planning and mining design. The methodology includes field observations, collection of primary and secondary data, calculation of equipment productivity, fleet setting planning, and the design of mining sequences using Minescape 5.7 software. The data analyzed includes heavy equipment cycle time, work efficiency, swell factor, stripping ratio, and geotechnical parameters from the TURA consultant. The results show that the excavation and hauling equipment requirements are adjusted according to the specifications of the available equipment in the company, with accurate productivity calculations for each month during Q2 (March–May 2025). The pit design includes monthly mining progress that takes into account the distribution of coal seams, stable bench geometry, and efficient haul road design. This research contributes technical recommendations that can be utilized by the company to improve operational effectiveness and achieve production targets optimally and sustainably.
